{"id":351,"date":"2014-11-24T01:36:16","date_gmt":"2014-11-24T01:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/?p=351"},"modified":"2014-11-24T01:58:10","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T01:58:10","slug":"botox-wifi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/botox-wifi\/","title":{"rendered":"Botox WiFi?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>How is BOTOX\u00a0and Wi-Fi related?<\/h3>\n<p>Basically <a href=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\">BOTOX <\/a>shuts down the signal (this signal can be thought of as &#8220;WiFi&#8221; for your phone) between nerve and muscle. \u00a0There is no alteration of the muscle &#8211; just like when the WiFi signal is shut off, there is no alteration to your cell phone.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve come up with this original analogy one day when talking to a patient who was cellular phone sales person. \u00a0 WiFi is a trademark name and is considered at this point, any wireless local area network for computers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/wfa-logo_0.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-355\" src=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/wfa-logo_0.png\" alt=\"wfa-logo_0\" width=\"100\" height=\"84\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>First, in general, how does BOTOX work?<\/h3>\n<p>What&#8217;s the mechanism of action for Botox? \u00a0Botox prevents the tensing up of muscles. \u00a0The word &#8220;tensing&#8221; could be also be considered &#8220;contracting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Medical professionals consider BOTOX\u00a0to be one of the most effective ways to maintain youthful beauty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/botox-mechanism.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-356\" src=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/botox-mechanism.gif\" alt=\"botox mechanism\" width=\"199\" height=\"131\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/botox-mechanism-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.injectionartistry.com\/botoxblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/botox-mechanism-2.gif\" alt=\"botox mechanism 2\" width=\"196\" height=\"131\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>In more detail: \u00a0how is Acetylcholine involved with BOTOX?<\/h3>\n<p>Acetylcholine is the signal for muscle contraction.<\/p>\n<p>Botox reduces\u00a0the release of acetylcholine from the nerve endings. \u00a0It is the acetylcholine, which is a neutrotransmitter messenger, which tells the muscles to contract. \u00a0Without the acetylcholine released, the muscles stay in a\u00a0more relaxed configuration because it doesn&#8217;t get that signal for contraction.<\/p>\n<h3>Thus, the real analogy is that Acetylcholine is the Wi-Fi signal<\/h3>\n<p>Acetylcholine carries the signal for muscle contraction. \u00a0Just like WiFi carries the signal for my internet connection. \u00a0Botox works on reducing the signal.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, that analogy is a fun one, and I&#8217;ve enjoyed using it in my explanations in my Botox Consultations at my <a title=\"modesto botox center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.InjectionArtistry.com\">Modesto Botox Center<\/a>: Surgical Artistry.<\/p>\n<h3>So, muscles cause wrinkes?<\/h3>\n<p>Yes and No. \u00a0Yes, muscle CONTRACTION causes wrinkles. \u00a0Thus if we cut the signal for muscle CONTRACTION, the wrinkle isn&#8217;t crinkled. \u00a0But the muscle by itself in a relaxed state does not cause wrinkles. \u00a0So the key word here is contraction.<\/p>\n<h3>Disclaimer: \u00a0I am by no means trying to say that Botox gives you a better WiFi signal.<\/h3>\n<p>That would be interesting and probably very useful &#8211; but it doesn&#8217;t work that way. \u00a0 I was just trying to use some real life examples to explain Botox to my patients. \u00a0Please see your Botox doctor, nurse, or aesthetician in person for a personalized discussion. \u00a0There is no patient-doctor relationship set up by reading this article. \u00a0Nothing here is medical advice. \u00a0This is just generalized information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How is BOTOX\u00a0and Wi-Fi related?
